Keynote Speaker: Dr. Robert S. Sutor
Dr. Robert Sutor is the Vice President of Open Source and Linux for the IBM Corporation. In this role he has the responsibility for driving the IBM strategy, sales enablement, and technical pre-sales for software running on Linux and other open source environments.
In 1999 Dr. Sutor moved to the IBM Software Group and focused on jump starting industry use of XML. This led to positions on the Board of Directors of the OASIS standards group and the vice chairmanship of the ebXML effort, a joint OASIS/United Nations endeavor. Sutor then led IBM’s industry standards and Web services strategy efforts. He is a frequent speaker around the world on open source; was featured in interviews in the Harvard Business Review, CNET, eWeek, and InfoWorld; and was quoted in the Wall Street Journal and the Economist. In 2006 Sutor was named as one of Computer Business Review’s “Open Source VIPs”. He co-authored the books Axiom: The Scientific Computation System and The LaTeX Web Companion. Sutor was a co-author of the W3C Recommendation Mathematical Markup Language (MathML) as well as the W3C Recommendation Document Object Model Level 1
Dr. Sutor has an undergraduate degree from Harvard College and a Ph.D. from Princeton University, both in Mathematics.
Keynote Speaker: Mr. Jim Lacey
Mr. Jim Lacey is the President and CEO of the Linux Professional with affiliate organizations in more than 20 countries. In accepting this new responsibility at LPI, Jim leaves behind his position as President and CEO of Bradford Learning--a provider of IT training courseware. Bradford Learning has earned a global reputation as a provider of high quality Linux courseware and was one of the first organizations to provide LPI Approved Training Material (LATM). Jim also served on CompTIA’a Certification Steering Council and numerous advisory councils to help shape the IT certification landscape. Moreover, Jim's previous positions at CompUSA included Regional Training Director for a five state territory and as a Training Center Business Manager in Northern Ohio.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.
Mr. Jean-Pierre Laisné
Mr. Jean-Pierre Laisné is the Open Source Strategy Manager for BULL S.A., Jean-Pierre Laisné is Chairman of OW2, a consortium composed of leading European Industry actors joining efforts to produce Open Source middleware.
Since 1997, Laisné has also served as Co-Founder and Vice-President of AFUL (French Speaking Linux Users' Association), a very active organization involved in lobbying for Linux and Open-Source software expansion. Jean-Pierre Laisné is also the coordinator of the Qualipso Project's Competence Centre activities, an international alliance to help industries producing high quality open source software
Mr. Cyril Meunier
Mr. Cyril Meunier joined IDC France in November 2008 as Software Consulting Manager. He has 10 years of experience in computing. At IDC, as well as being involved in many consultancy projects with applied software and tools publishers present on the French market, he is in charge of recurrent studies on the French market in computer health, ERPs, Management and Customer Relations applications and decision-making applications. At European level he is also IDC’s contact point with the European Commission for its European software strategy and other studies and projects. Cyril Meunier is a graduate in European Affairs from the Paris Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po Paris).
Mr. Karim Chine
Karim Chine is the author and designer of Biocep-R (www.biocep.net), a highly innovative OSS platform for statistical and scientific computing in the Cloud, and of Elastic-R, a Google Docs- like portal for on-demand computing, collaboration and computational artifacts sharing. He has a long and successful record in large scale software design and he was a member of staff at several organizations including Imperial College London, the European Bioinformatics Institute, ILOG and Schlumberger. He is a member of the European Commission’s panel of experts evaluating the proposals of the 7th Call (Research Infrastructures). Karim holds a BSc in Theoretical Physics and two engineering degrees from Ecole Polytechnique and Télécom ParisTech.
Mr. Karim Djaafar

Mr. Karim Djaafar is an expert consultant in the field of Java / JEE technologies having more than 10 years of experience in software development and consulting in software engineering services. He acts now as a Technical Director of Jasmine Conseil. He provides consulting services for Java / JEE projects that are based on Open source frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring or Seam.
His consulting services encompass the architecture design phases, the testing phases, the deployment phases, and the optimization of JEE based applications.
Pr. Jean Pierre Archambault
Mr. Jean-Pierre Archambault is a professor of mathematics. He is charged with leading edge technology at the CNDP-CRDP institute (National Centre for Teaching Documentation) in Paris, where he is responsible for the coordination of open source software within the SCEREN (Cultural Services for National Education).
He is also the coordinator of the SIALLE Ministerial project that aims at promoting the usage and the developpement of Open Source Software in education in order to foster technology pluralism.

Mr. Jean Luc Archimbaud
Mr. Jean-Luc Archimbaud is the manager of PLUME project that is related to the use and production of Open Source software, for and from the higher education and research community. He is also project leader in the UREC laboratory. In the CNRS (French national research agency), he participated and led projects of computer networks and computer security.
Mr. Jean-Luc Archimbaud holds a master degree in Management of Information System.

Mr. Jean Marie Micallef
Mr. Jean Marie Micallef is the co-founder of Phidias, an engineering service company specialized in the Open Source ERP that is named COMPIERE.
Mr. Jean Marie Micallef has been offering ERP solution for small and medium-sized business for more than 15 years. During that time, he noticed the limitations and constraints of proprietary ERP solutions. Thus, he conducted a rigorous study that led him to design and achieve the Open Source ERP solution COMPIERE.
Mr. Jean Marie Micallef is also the chairman of the Libertis Association that aims at promoting Open Source in Industry.
